Who can participate in the Ravel Award IMC?

The competition is open to musicians of all ages and nationalities, including soloists, vocalists, chamber ensembles, composers, conductors, and music video creators.


Is the competition online or in person?

The entire competition is conducted online.
Participants submit a video or audio recording. No travel is required.


Do I have to perform music by Ravel?

No. Repertoire is completely free.
You may perform works from any period or style.


How many rounds are there?

There are two stages:
• Preliminary Round (complimentary)
• Final Round (by invitation)

All applicants start in the Preliminary Round.


Is the Preliminary Round free?

Yes. Participation in the Preliminary Round is complimentary.


What is the Final Round fee?

Invited finalists who choose to continue pay a €100 administrative fee.
The fee is non-refundable.


Do all finalists receive an award?

Yes. Every finalist receives the official title of Laureate and a digital diploma.


Are there cash prizes?

No. The competition awards diplomas and distinctions only.


Can I apply in more than one category?

Yes. There is no limit.
You may apply to multiple categories and submit multiple performances.


Is there an age limit?

No. The competition is open to all ages.
Age groups are used only for evaluation purposes.


What repertoire length is recommended?

Up to 30 minutes per submission is recommended.


What type of recording is required?

A video link (YouTube, Vimeo, or similar platform) with clear sound and image.
The performer and instrument/voice must be visible.

Composers may submit an audio recording instead of a video.


Are edited recordings allowed?

Yes, provided they accurately represent your performance level.


How does the jury evaluate performances?

The international jury evaluates:
• technique
• musical interpretation
• artistic individuality
• repertoire choice
• overall presentation

All decisions are final and cannot be appealed.


When will I receive the results?

Results are sent by email and published on the website according to the official schedule.


Will my name or recording be published?

Selected laureates may be featured on the website or social media for promotional purposes.
Details are explained in the Privacy Policy.


Can teachers receive certificates?

Yes. Teacher Appreciation Diplomas are available upon request via the contact form.
